Lauren & Jon's Snowy March Elopement in Telluride, Colorado

If you've ever wondered whether you can have an intimate, adventurous elopement and include all your favorite people, Lauren and Jon's Telluride wedding day is the perfect example.

Their March elopement was everything you hope for in a Colorado winter wedding. Fresh snow covered the mountains, the skies were crystal clear, and there was so much laughter and joy woven into every part of the day.

We started the morning with a first look at San Sophia Overlook, one of my favorite spots in Telluride. The views from up there never disappoint, especially with the San Juan Mountains covered in snow. Lauren and Jon took a few quiet moments together before the day really got going, and it was such a sweet way to start everything.

From there, we headed to Trout Lake for their ceremony. One of my favorite things about this day was how many family members came to celebrate with them. A lot of people think elopements have to mean running off alone, but Lauren and Jon created a day that felt intimate while still sharing it with the people who matter most. Standing out in the snow with their family surrounding them, they exchanged vows against one of the most beautiful mountain backdrops Colorado has to offer.

After the ceremony, everyone headed back into Telluride for what might be one of my favorite post-ceremony celebrations ever: pizza and beer at the Last Dollar Saloon.

No formal ballroom. No strict reception timeline. Just good food, cold drinks, and quality time with the people they love.

Honestly, it felt so them.

The entire day had such a relaxed vibe. There was no rushing from one event to the next. Everyone was able to slow down, enjoy the mountains, and soak in the fact that Lauren and Jon had just gotten married.

To wrap up the day, we jumped back on the gondola and made our way up to San Sophia Overlook for sunset photos. The light was incredible, the mountains seemed to go on forever, and the snow reflected the soft evening glow perfectly. After spending the day celebrating with family, it was the perfect chance for Lauren and Jon to take a breath and enjoy a few moments together as newlyweds.

Looking back, this day felt like everything a Colorado elopement should be—beautiful views, meaningful moments, a little adventure, and absolutely zero pressure to do things any certain way.

Lauren and Jon planned a day that reflected who they are, and that's exactly what made it so special.
